The importance of Planning

We all use many different types of plans in our day to day lives. These could be strategic plans, financial plans, work plans, daily or weekly plans. But how many of us have made career plans to chart a successful career journey from student to professional life. The answer will mostly be that not many of us have made such plans.

Planning is the process of setting goals and defining an action plan to achieve those goals. Planning begins with goals. However while setting goals it is important to remember that every individual is affected both by internal and external conditions or situations which may or may not be under their control. In today's chaotic world, planning more than a few months in advance may seem futile.

However meticulous planning is better than unplanned activity. Planning helps the individual make progress even in an uncertain and constantly changing situation.

    Plans help to improves decision making. When you have a plan in place, you're better equipped to make informed decisions. This can help you avoid making impulsive decisions that could ultimately hinder your progress.

    Planning can also help to reduce stress. By establishing a clear path forward, you can eliminate some of the uncertainty and ambiguity that can lead to anxiety. Additionally, by identifying potential obstacles in advance, you can create contingency plans to address them, which can further reduce stress.
